Hawkins represented The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey for many years as bond counsel and has continued to participate in many Port Authority financings as underwriter’s counsel. The firm served as underwriter’s counsel on one of the first special facility financings by the Port Authority, a $250 million terminal facility at LaGuardia Airport. Hawkins subsequently served as underwriter's counsel on bonds issued for KIAC Partners, a general partnership among energy companies, to finance a cogeneration facility serving the Port Authority at JFK airport.
