Hawkins represented the investment banker in the private placement of $46,115,000 of tax-exempt and $10,750,000 of taxable fixed rate revenue bonds on behalf of California University of Science and Medicine (“CUSM”). CUSM operates California’s newest medical school to be constructed in Colton, San Bernardino, California, offering a M.D. program and also a program leading to a Master of Biomedical Sciences degree. The financing allowed CUSM to restructure existing debt on a more favorable basis and provided necessary funds to construct and equip a new state of the art medical school building
