Environmental Facilities Finance

Hawkins Delafield & Wood LLP plays a leading legal role in the development of financing and loan programs for water supply and sewage treatment facilities. Working with state governments under the federal clean water and drinking water state revolving fund programs, the Firm drafted legislation, regulations and loan, bond, financing and disclosure documentation to help implement these vital environmental programs.

Several of the Firm’s partners specialize in procurements and contract negotiations for water and wastewater projects and services, and in performing related strategic review, study, evaluation and research assignments.

Hawkins handles a broad array of environmental matters, including the drafting, evaluation and defense of environmental impact analyses, regulatory monitoring, compliance with Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water Act requirements, procurement and evaluation of environmental insurance coverage, “due-diligence” for corporate, bond and real estate transactions and general counseling. As a result of the Firm’s extensive involvement in waste management, our environmental group also works closely with the Firm’s waste management specialists on the environmental aspects of source reduction and separation, reclamation and recycling of waste materials, composting, resource recovery and modern landfilling.
